Mortaio Cane Corso began with a genuine connection to the breed. I was first introduced to the Cane Corso in high school, and from that point on, the breed stood out above all others. I spent years watching experienced breeders, studying pedigrees, learning about structure, temperament, and health, and immersing myself in everything Cane Corso.

That passion never faded. It grew into a commitment to do things the right way, continuing to learn, improving with every step, and producing better dogs with each generation.

Our breeding program is carefully planned. Pairings are selected with health, structure, temperament, and compatibility in mind. We are committed to continuous improvement and making thoughtful decisions that support the future of the breed.

Our puppies are raised in a home environment, where they receive daily handling and early exposure. Each litter follows a structured curriculum that includes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), desensitization, and early scent introduction to help build confident, stable foundations from the start.

Every breeding is an opportunity to learn, improve, and raise the standard.

We believe responsible breeding is a process, not a finish line. We are committed to ongoing education, transparency, and accountability. Our goal is to produce Cane Corsos that are structurally sound, mentally stable, and capable of thriving as family companions and protectors.

We stand behind our dogs and take pride in placing each puppy in a home that understands the responsibility of owning this powerful breed.

Q&a

Please reach us at mortaiocanecorso@outlook.com if you have any further questions.

Cane Corsos are a naturally protective breed, deeply devoted to their family and typically reserved with strangers. They require an owner who is calm, confident, and consistent, as they will test boundaries as they mature. With proper socialization, clear structure, and steady leadership, they develop into loyal, stable guardians well-suited for owners prepared to meet the breed’s needs.

Our puppies follow a daily and weekly developmental curriculum designed to support each stage of growth. They are fed Inukshuk 26/16 premium kibble and receive routine veterinary care to ensure a strong, healthy start.

Puppies must be picked up no later than 8 weeks of age. A 3-day grace period is permitted. After this period, a boarding fee will apply.

If the puppy is not picked up within 10 days of the original scheduled pick-up date, the deposit will be forfeited, and the puppy will be released and made available to another family.

In our kennel, we prioritize stable, well-balanced temperaments. Our dogs are protective when appropriate, yet calm and non-reactive in public settings. Both our male and female Cane Corsos are naturally protective of their home and family, while remaining friendly, composed, and well-mannered in public.

They are discerning dogs, capable of assessing situations and responding appropriately rather than reacting impulsively. With proper socialization and leadership, they mature into confident, steady companions, loyal guardians when needed, and calm family members in everyday life.

ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) is a series of gentle exercises performed with each puppy during the first few weeks of life to support healthy neurological development.

Early Scent Introduction involves exposing puppies to a variety of safe scents to encourage curiosity and confidence.

Desensitization is achieved through gentle, consistent handling—such as touching paws, ears, and tails, so puppies become comfortable with routine care and human interaction.

We also introduce puppies to everyday household sounds and environments, including vacuum cleaners, doorbells, and normal household activity. These early exposures help puppies grow into confident, stable dogs that are less easily startled.

Together, these practices help lay the foundation for well-adjusted, resilient adult dogs.

Puppies placed in pet homes only start at $4,500, with a $500 non-refundable deposit.

Breeding rights pricing is as follows:

  • $6000 with required AKC show championship

  • $7000 with optional AKC show championship

All breeding placements require completed health testing, including OFA and/or PennHIP.

All deposits are non-refundable. If sufficient notice is given prior to the puppy’s go-home date, the deposit may be transferred to a future litter at the breeder’s discretion.

Ear cropping is optional for pet homes and does not affect pricing.
Breeding prospects are required to have their ears cropped.
